I’ve been developing websites since I was 18. In fact it’s the only job that I ever had.
I was born in Barcelona in 1978 and I’m living and working here even I love traveling and I do it as mush as I can.
I started my first company when I was 18, Llavacom. Internet was just starting and developers were starting to produce content and we joined this movement while trying to get some comercial clients, it was too early and we rarely managed to earn some money. But the experience was killer to me.
So then I took my time to study laws and I got a degree on 2003, just before to start this Gimmicklab project.
Meanwhile I just started a little bussiness, for one side I was teaching computers in diferent places and working as a freelance developer, it was just the excuse to go and learn more and at the same time it was making me a total warrior in computers touching every diferent side to understand everything about how they were running: from disambling to designing and coding.
With Gimmicklab and Arturo we created a company with a particular goal, yes we make our living but what we want to do is improve, because it’s our space where we feel free to follow an evolution and increase our skills doing what we like.
But what I really like doing this days It’s studying about the semantic components of a web site, the HTML mark up and the CSS side, creating flexibles, semantic (again), leightweight and intuitives interfaces.
I strongly believe that an open sourced and standarized structure it will take us to a next level of interactivity between the platforms that we are designing. We are working for that.
I also like playing with Javascript, PHP, MySQL and other langauges but I don’t consider myself and expert in those areas.
Here you are going to find my place with all the thoughts about the things that I’ve been working on, also some pictures that I take when traveling. I really apreciate if you don’t feel shy and leave a comment cause I’m sure that everyone will learn something.
You will see that sometimes I’ll write in english and sometimes in spanish. I’ll try to write in english as much as possible because I know that I need a little practise (still learning as you can see). My apologies.
